Siargao doesn't really have a bad time to visit, but the sea conditions and crowd levels shift enough through the year to affect your island hopping day. Here's what to expect in each stretch.
February to May — dry season
The calmest, clearest months. Seas are typically flat in the morning, visibility is at its best for snorkeling, and photos come out brightest. This is also the busiest and most booked-up period, so weekday departures and early booking help if you have specific dates in mind.
June to November — green season
Surf season on Siargao, which means more swell and shorter, heavier afternoon rain showers. Mornings are usually still workable for island hopping, and boats adjust routes or timing around the wind. Crowds thin out considerably outside of the surf competitions, and rates can be a little more flexible.
December to January — the in-between
Mixed weather, quieter beaches after the Christmas week rush, and water that's still warm. Conditions vary day to day more than in either of the other two stretches, so it's worth checking in close to your date rather than planning too far ahead.
The practical takeaway
Whatever the season, morning departures give you the calmest water and the best light, and tours can be moved or refunded if conditions turn on the day. If you're set on a specific date, message us on WhatsApp a few days out and we'll tell you honestly what the sea is doing.
